Yen Chen has over 15 years’ experience in designing and managing complex and high-profile domestic and international projects. With project types ranging from schools, multi-family housing, private residences and commercial interiors to cultural institutions, Yen’s approach to design is both creative and collaborative from concept to construction. She firmly believes architecture is both intentional and dynamic. For each and every project, she strives to help the client not only realize their building vision but also discover serendipity in the process.

Prior to founding YC+D Architecture, Yen worked for several highly regarded design studios in Southern California where she held key roles in design and execution of notable projects. She is licensed in the State of California and holds degrees from Harvard University and Yale School of Architecture.

Dara Douraghi has over 15 years of experience as an architect and has worked on various project types ranging from theme parks to federal and educational projects. What keeps him excited about architecture, engineering, and construction is the collective process of designing and constructing buildings. He believes through collaboration, teamwork and adopting innovative design solutions informed by technology we can address many of common construction problems, leading to more successful projects.
At YC+D, Dara is responsible for design, implementation and delivery of projects. He is also in charge of business development as well as managing several of YC+D ‘s key accounts. Dara is licensed in the State of California and holds architecture degrees from Georgia Tech and UC Berkeley.
